Helichrysum Italicum is a member of the sunflower family and comes from the Greek word "helisso" meaning "to turn around" and the word "chrysos" which means "gold". In historical times, the yellow flowers of this plant were dried and offered to the Greek Gods. Helichrysum essential oil has a beautiful sweet aroma of honey and nectar and is also known as Everlasting Oil and Immortelle Oil. This plant sounds pretty amazing already, right? Well, keep reading!
Helichrysum oil has so many amazing benefits that it's daunting! The majority of health benefits are attributed to its antioxidant properties as well as its broad therapeutic properties including anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal. Helichrysum oil as been used for centuries to treat respiratory conditions and ease bronchitis as well as coughing. It also has a reputation for being a pain reliever due to its incredible anti-inflammatory properties making it highly effective in the treatment of sprains, strains, bruises and arthritis.
