Let's Talk Soap!

September 11, 2014

With so many different brands and methods of soapmaking, soap is more than just lathering up these days. It's important to know which ingredients you're washing with, how they're beneficial to you and what steps you can take to lengthen the life of your soap bar.

Our handcrafted Luxury Soap Bars are perfected using  organic vegetable oils such as Coconut Oil and Palm Oil which are grown and produced according to fair trade and sustainable conditions. Coconut Oil is a fantastic skin softener that also helps protect our skin from the sun's harmful rays. Palm Oil is known to penetrate deeply into our skin's layers in order to both heal and protect.  In addition to these wonderful hydrating oils we combine Cocoa Butter (an amazing moisturizer that prevents signs of aging, reduces stretch marks and soothes skin irritations) as well as our infamous Galiano grown Stinging Nettle (which has incredible cleansing, antibacterial and purifying properties). The end result: the perfect moisturizing Luxury Soap Bar.

Seeing that our soap bars are made with oils that are  high in fatty acids,  you'll be beyond pleased with the rich lather that leaves your skin feeling hydrated and smooth. A high oil content also makes these soaps EXCELLENT for shaving your legs or underarms while showering; your razor will glide smoothly without nicks or cuts.

Since variety IS the spice of life, our soaps come in a beautiful array of colours and are deliciously scented with essential oils to further enhance your mood. Our most popular scent Lavender is soothing and calming while our Bonsai Citrus Ginger leaves you feeling awake and invigorated. Have a go at our Rosemary Mint bar to uplift and stimulate your senses or if you're not much into fragrance you will adore our Unscented Castille soaps made with 100% pure extra virgin Olive Oil. There is literally something for everyone!

After you've chosen your ideal scent it is important to store your Luxury Soap bar properly to prolong its life and scent. Remember: dry is best. Keeping your bar away from direct shower stream will prevent your soap from melting and keeping it out of high humidity will make its scent last longer. Using a bath sponge or washcloth instead of your hands will also help lengthen the life of your bar. Need to store several soap bars for presents or future use? Simply wrap your bars in tissue or parchment paper and store them in your linen drawer. Not only will your linens smell heavenly but your soaps will stay dry and cool. Come check out our beautiful Artisan Soaps and see what all the fuss is about!
