Many natural deodorants contain baking soda, but we decided to go a different route. The main component of this deodorant is arrowroot powder, a gentle, non-irritating, non-gmo element that works hard to draw out toxins. Want to know just HOW powerful arrowroot is? In ancient times, the starch from arrowroot was used to treat those injured from poisoned arrows; hence the name "arrowroot". It works hard but is also gentle enough to allow the other active ingredients of this deodorant to deeply penetrate the skin. Activated charcoal has been used in the medical field for ages to treat poisonous stings and bites because it has the ability to absorb and adsorb thousands of times its own weight. That makes it very useful in drawing out bacteria, oil, dirt and other micro particles from sensitive, vulnerable areas such as your underarms, plus it helps restore elasticity to the skin. To ensure your pits stay as dry and oil-free as possible, we've added magnesium hydroxide, a gentle but effective cleanser for oily skin which helps remove excess moisture and oils.
In order to maintain suppleness, various oils and butters have been added with your skin's well-being in mind: coconut oil, shea butter, babassu butter and jojoba oil are all easily absorbed and high in nutrients to prevent drying and improve the skin's structure. This probiotic deodorant absorbs so nicely into the skin (even though the actual product is black!) and will not stain your clothing. Simply rub a small amount of Fresh Pits thoroughly into your underarms with your finger and away you go! No pesky stick to worry about and no need to reapply throughout the day. Now all that's left is for you to decide which one of our two fabulous scents suits you the most: "Citrus", a bright blend of clementine and vanilla or "Woodsy", a wonderful combination of frankincense, bergamot and juniper.
